Petition of Support
for Southern & Christian Heritage
We, the delegates of the Southern States, in Congress assembled, make the following petition to the Legislative and Executive officials of our States and demand:
All symbols of Southern Heritage and Christianity belong to the people and families of their respective States and as such must not be politically exploited.
Any removal from public land of Southern Heritage or Christian symbols such as statues, name designations on buildings or streets, monuments, or flags shall first be approved by the voting citizens of the State in which the items are located.
The Southern National Congress also supports the issuance of specialty license plates for the SCV and other organizations which desire such plates portraying Southern Heritage symbols.
Adopted 14 November 2015 at the Eighth Annual Session of the Southern National Congress at Dickson, Tennessee and ordered to be transmitted to the Executives and Legislators of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.
What is liberty without wisdom and without virtue?
